It takes a lot of time and money to operate DCSki. DCSki is one of the pioneering online ski communities and news platforms, serving snowsports enthuasists for over 30 years. The site delivers independent, objective News coverage, and nurtures a welcoming and supportive community in the DCSki Forum. DCSki also preserves the rich history of over 100 Lost Ski Areas in the Mid-Atlantic, while offering detailed Resort Profiles of 34 major ski destinations across Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia.
DCSki's Editor, M. Scott Smith, has kept the site running, contributing countless hours of his own time and money to keep DCSki going strong.
Although DCSki is supported in part by advertisers, the advertising landscape has changed significantly in recent years, with conglomerates like Facebook attracting the majority of advertiser dollars and making it very difficult for independent sites like DCSki to remain viable.
That's why we'd like to ask for your help. If you would like to support DCSki and help subsidize its operating costs, please consider making a contribution. Think of it as a DCSki "Tip Jar."
In return, you will receive special recognition and benefits for a period of 12 months. Posts you make to DCSki will be accompanied by a "supporter" icon, and you will also receive the ability to limit or completely eliminate the ads you see on DCSki, leading to faster and cleaner pages.
(To receive these benefits, you must have a registered account on DCSki, and the e-mail address you use for the donation must match the e-mail address associated with your account. If it doesn't, send us an e-mail after making a donation with your username on DCSki and we'll make sure to activate your benefits. Note that we need to manually activate your benefits after your contribution is processed, so there might be a slight delay.)
DCSki offers two ways to make a cash contribution. Note that DCSki is not a charity, so any donation you make is not tax-deductible.
