I was reading this story on reopening of Oglebay Park http://www.dcski.com/articles/view_article.php?article_id=735&mode=headlines and had question for Bruce P. or others - are there any "ski areas" in the country that are essentially just Parks with few or no adjacent ski runs? That sort of thing might be a good economic fit in the suburbs of colder northern cities in the East, Midwest or maybe west coast. Key elements for a small operation like that would seem to be a few hundred feet of vertical, snowmaking system, groomers/cutters, etc. with several parks laid out side by side, served by some surface lifts? Maybe Oglebay could start a trend?
