I heard that as well.  I love that ski shop and am friends with all who work there.  If you are looking for a boot fitter, try  Greg Hoffman ski boot fitting at the ski shop at the entrance to Silver Creek.  skibootfitting.com He's from Vail and is very good.  He's worked with me, my wife and some friends from the valley in getting set up in new or old boots.  As for other stuff like purchases, I'm PSIA.
