And we do all of that without plastering ads all over the site or participating in ad networks that have proliferated in recent years. In fact, DCSki is one of the last remaining publications that does not participate in third-party cross-site ad networks. That means we don't share any information about our visitors with third parties. We only show one non-animated, non-popup ad per page, and only from local advertisers who have listed directly with us -- not via Facebook, Google, or other ad networks whose underlying intent is to track users across the Internet. Ads on DCSki are hosted directly on our server, and we don't share any personal information about users with our advertisers.
This is a philosophical position for us. While it significantly reduces our revenue, it protects your privacy, increases the speed of the site, and allows you to become immersed in the original content and stories that we've worked so hard to create.
