The lift servicing Cup Run at Snowshoe stopped running at 10:00 A.M on Sunday and did not run for the rest of the day. Has anyone heard what happened to it?

Western Express shut down at 1105. No one was stuck on the lift. The resort shut it down for a maintenance reasons. It re-opened at 1400.

It's operating fine today and will be in good shape for MLK.

According to the ski patrol, Western Territories lift was down due to a power outage. Same outage seemed to affect Powder Monkey lift which was out until at least 1:00 when we started for home. Fortunately there were very few people left by Sunday so Grabhammer lift easily took up the slack for Powder Monkey.

The truth about lifts on Sunday.

I'm not sure which patroller informed you of a power outage in part he/she was correct. but it wasn't supply power it was control power. Evidently there was one solder joint on one of many boards that went bad and it took out a bank of relays... Sabina electronic controls had to come Monday night to fix. If you were here monday you could hear the roar of the diesel all day long. *but it ran at full speed*
Cupp and Ballhooter lifts were also shut down one of those days for winds in excess of 60 mph.

P-monkey was down for maintenance. one of the sheave wheels stopped spinning for some reason. Once repair was made the lift opperation resumed.

Be aware of weekdays. Each lift is designated for weekly maintenance usually 2 hours at the beginning of the day.. The snow report will include the designated lift for that day.
