I missed Matt Lauer's visit to Zermatt earlier this week on Today Show, but tracked some video down on their website. If you want to see some excerpts of NBC Today Show in Switzerland, click on link below, go to

Day 2 Zermatt, and watch the video of matt's adventures, check out: flying over alps (paragliding), this is Zermatt, and skiing the alps (with Pirmin Zurbriggin)

If you've ever been to Zermatt, you'll shake your head in agreement with Matt when he says the view of the Matterhorn from this Swiss town is one of the most breathtaking anywhere.

Thanks Jim:

Several people mentioned it to me but I was glad you hunted down the link, so I could finally see it.

The segment graphically illustrated a theme I am trying to convey in my St. Moritz article: you can have relatively warm air temps (8 Celsius) and still have excellent skiing at the higher altitudes in the Swiss Alps because the air is so darn dry.

Also, I have new respect for Matt Lauer. He certainly proved that he can ski as well as he talks.
