Here's the latest sitrep as of 7 March:
"We have received 10
inches of snow so far from the storm that started on Sunday and more is on
the way. That just means that the conditions for spring skiing at Snowshoe
Mountain once again will be awesome.
This year's snowfall now stands at 156-inches as of Monday,
March 8th. After a slow start, March has truly come in as a lion. We have
now received 87-percent of the Resort's 10-year seasonal average of 180
inches. Last March, we received 20- inches of snow so we are half way
there.
The snowmakers in Snowshoe Mountain's Mountain Operations
have cranked the snow guns up again. The plans right now are to make snow
every night this week as the low temperatures range from the mid-teens to
the low 20s."
The natural snow is of course, awesome, but what we should really cheer is Snowshoe's willingness to make more snow this late in the season.
THEREFORE, I implore people to consider visiting Snowshoe one more time this year before snow is but a distant memory! It's clearly the best regional bet this weekend and beyond.
