The Charleston Gazette ran a long article on Tory today. There's some history of the site in the piece and also some positive words from Joe Stevens, the Snowshoe Communications chief.

"A developed Tory Mountain 'would give skiers who like to come to West Virginia more opportunities for good terrain,' said Snowshoe Mountain spokesman Joe Stevens."

This is so strange.There is talk of building both tory & MPC & not one peep out of the salamander crowd??!?

Getting excited about tory mtn...not the 2000' vert of MPC but 1200' of solid north facing vert + another 300 vert of east facing at the bottom if done right.1500'...with a view from the summit that will be awesome.There will be views of spruce knob(highest point in WV)to the east & the roaring plains with a few 4700'+ peaks to the north & a few 4000'+ tops to the west & if you ski off the top to the south you will see some 4800'+ tops(SS & bald knob)We ain't getting any younger you developers Bring it on!
