is there a cheap and easy wrist guard type device that can be worn to protect wrists when snowboarding? or is there an attachment that can added to standard ski gloves for wrist protection when boarding?
Thanks.

Yes there is. You can buy special wrist guards at Sports Authority that fit over any mitten or glove, they cost about $15 and are well worth it. You can also buy gloves with a plastic insert in them that protects your wrist. The downside to having them built into the glove is that the fabric may rip when you fall, especially at the heel of your hand where there is a lot of pressure when you fall.
