If you have photos or memories of Snowpocalypse skiing or any time you enjoyed deep snow in the mid-Atlantic now in mid-July is the time to share them!  These are from Blue Knob, PA February 2010.

Look at all that natural snow on Stembogen!!  The snowgun is almost buried.  Who needs it?

Great shot of my backside.  Does that powder make my butt look big?

All great pics, especially the one of the top of East Wall glades.

Kudos to our official Mid-Atlantic ski archivist, JimK!

Currently doing a House flip down in Hampton Va and the last 2 days have been hot .Yesterday the heat index was 110 :(    I found myself going through some pics the last few evenings  to cool down some from that timeframe.

This looks like the lodge on top of Mt Hood, OR, not Snowshoe, WV!

This is Lower Shortway at Blue Knob in Feb 2010.  This is a steep, narrow, all-natural trail that is rarely open.  Most snow I've ever seen on it, skier is Songfta:

Another of Lower Shortway in 2010:

So Jim, is the Mid-A Gathering going back to BK or are we going to head to Timberline. Some rumbling bears have been curious. If we have another snowpocalypse  it would be a no brainer. The skier on your last shot on Shortway came from Philly with Phil and crew. What was his name/screen name ?

Thanks for sharing Jim K.

I'm in west Texas this weekend and it's hotter than a well diggers ass in the desert.

I could use some snow right now.

So if memory serves me, the "Snowpacalypse" was in December 2009. "Snomageddon" was in February 2010. I guess things get named these days when it hits the big cities hard!

here is a few from Dec 2009 at WG:

Kurt gettin a facial on mainslope:

trail breakin crew heading up

of course you gotta take a re-fueling break on the mountain when you earn your turns!

and a few from 2013 record March.. from the infamous deep wednesday in late march....

scott showing how ski patrol keeps the mountain safe in all the pow:

but of course after all the lift served freshies are gone in a matter of hours, it's time to head to WG for a few days!

Athey getting some face shots in the baldy steeps:

Pretty sure Ive linked this viddy before. It's also from that late march 2013 day with Athey and my dog shredding the pow!

https://vimeo.com/123375435

dogs not usually allowed there, but in late march nobody skis in the valley anymore, so rules are more non-existent :)
