I am on the fence. I already purchased season passes for this season through the Snow Funding deal for $400 a piece. I am contemplating purchasing the Awesome Pass for 16/17, 17/18 and 18/19 but have one big concern: if the resort is sold, will the new owners honor them?

Thoughts?

In my opinion, you can  count on the place changing ownership in less than 3 years.  Whether the new ownership will honor the remainder of this offer is a very valid concern.

Timberline has been owned and operated by the Herz/Reichle family for 30 years, and we plan on keeping it that way for another 30+ years. We have big plans for resort improvements, starting with the new terrain park w/hand tow this year, as well as two new water pumps and 20 new snow guns which will increase our snowmaking capacity by 30% over last year. This means we should be able to get more trails open sooner, and that means more skiers during the early season. These as well as other planned improvements will translate into increased revenues over previous seasons. We shouldn't have any trouble "keeping the lights on".  :)

I did it. Purchased two Awesome passes with no blackout dates (first 500 qualify). Timberline is now allowing people to apply money spent on Snowfunding and regular annual passes for Awesome passes.

Pretty Awesome right? I think so.

Lots of activity on the mountain right now--I assume work on the snowmaking system. Pretty soon, the hills will be alive with the sound of snowmaking....

I did same. Have to give Tline credit for making the decision to allow people to apply funds already spent on regular season passes for Awesome Passes.

Same here.

One of our posters had a lot to do with that, from what I understand.
