Grabbed a cheap flight to Boston a few months ago and met up with my long time buddy (grade school) for a trip to NH.  We stayed at his house Thu night near Boston and headed north early Friday morning to Cannon.

Cannon was fun.  It was cold, a little windy with light snow most of our day at the summit.  We did not ski hard due to cold and over doing it on beers Thu night.  We skied right up to evey lift.  It felt like we had the place to ourselves.  When there was a break in the clouds, the views were very nice.

Here's a few pics from Cannon.

We grabbed a condo at The Lodge at Lincoln Station next too Loon and Fri night.  Sat was a Bluebird Day.  We met up with a friend who teaches in the adaptive program at Loon.  We skied the hell out of that mountain from first tracks to closing time.  Just an absolute blast.  I have a few pics fron Loon below.  From the summit, you can see Mt Washington with ease.  Just a glorious day.

It was the first time I ever stepped foot in NH.  Won't be my last!

Loon is fun.  Spent a couple days there in early Dec 2014.  Next time you go to NH, try to get over to Wildcat.

Love the posting.  As a matter of fact, my spouse and I were at Cannon for a St. Michael's College Alumni day just yesterday.  Bluebird day.  Cannon also has the added attaction of Mittersill, a well kept secret.  Mittersill was built by an Austrian noble, Baron Hubert von Pantz in 1945.  It is totally built like an Austrian village.  And connected to Cannon Mountain either by a quarter mile hike along the ridge of Cannon Mountain or via a side trail at the edge of the Cannon training area.

About New Hampshire's ski areas.  Since we left DC and moved to New Hampshire, my only regret is selling my Snowshoe place since I could put on my gear and be out the slopes in 50 steps.  However, the variety, challenge and availability of ski terrain here is amazing.  Within 2 hours of Lake Sunapee, where we live, there are no less than 15 mid-to-major ski resorts. Northern New England is a gem of a place
