Yesterday 18 March, the Skye Peak Express Lift at Killington simply ceased to function. Chairlift riders had to be rescued with ropes.
I follow the new england ski areas assosiation on facebook (or whatever its called) And they're saying thi is the first year since the 80's (Ithink) since a new lift has been instaled.
I think what you mean is that this year (due to the bad weather patterns and the lack of profits), will be the first year since the 1980s that a new chair or new ski transportation facility has not been installed. The Winter has been non-existent.
