Where's the Snow?
March 9, 2002
liberty, roundtop & whitetail all making lots of snow and all about 90% open, but sounds like melting temps will start again by the weekend.
They got about 5 inches of snow in Canaan Valley yesterday, with more forecast for the end of this coming weekend. However, a warm spell in between.
A couple of the local TV weather forecasters (namely, Bob Ryan and one on channel 7) pointed out that, this morning, for the first time since December 31, 2000, the temperature in DC dropped all the way into the teens.
Hey,
I just whet my appetite in Colorado and am desperate for some more runs.
I hope to hit a mountian Thursday and/or Friday.
Has anybody found decent conditions near D-C lately?
A week ago today I was at Whitetail. I find it hard to imagine that they even opened today, much less that they plan to run for another week. I don't see anyone in the webcam.

what a crazy week, wed 3/6 might have been the last great ski day, then the meltdown started, roundtop must think 3 mile island is out of control again.
Whitetail closed for the season today, and Liberty closes tomorrow.
