JUst came across this while browsing around on google. Looks like Greenbrier resort in southern WV is planning to make some ski slopes. 500' vert / 30 acres / 1 lift. Anybody hear about this or have any further info?

It's been on their radar but I think the massive floods last year may have delayed the ski portion. Note that it would be a PRIVATE ski area for members only.
It'll be a playground for the rich and famous, IMO.

Yeah I was wondering about the "private club" thing. It looks pretty small anyways. I certainly would rather go to snowshoe if I am heading that direction.
I would assume it would be for guests as well as members?

If it operates like the Homestead they accept day skiers as well as hotel guests.

but could the skiing live up to Homestead's high standard?
I've been to homestead once and was really struck by the open spaced trees all around the sides, (and the great base lodge, and monumentally ponderous lift) I said to someone who worked there how great the trees would be with a decent storm, he assured me no one would ever do that -- wasn't sure if he meant could, or would, or would never be allowed to
