Our ski area will be open every day from Dec. 15, 2017 through March 18, 2018. Single-day lifts tickets for adults will be $52 on weekdays and $68 on weekends. There are also ½-day, two-day, three-day and Value Season (Dec. 15-25, 2017 and March 5-18, 2018) rates available as well as lift ticket/rental equipment combination packages. Skiers who think ahead can save on a season pass now available online. The single season pass is priced at $497 if purchased between now and Nov. 30. After that the season pass reaches the full rate of $550. Children, college students, seniors and West Virginia residents will find additional savings.
The popular 1,200-foot tubing park ”“ the longest in the Mid-Atlantic region ”“ will open Nov. 24 and will operate Friday through Sunday for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. The park will then close for continued snowmaking until opening for the season December 16. The early-season two-hour tubing sessions will be 9-11 a.m., 11:30 a.m.”“1:30 p.m. and 2-4 p.m. Tubing tickets are $18 midweek and $25 on weekends and holidays during the regular season. Tubers must be at least four years old and 48 inches tall.
The covered outdoor ice skating rink will open on Thanksgiving day and operate throughout the holiday weekend. Like the tube park, it will reopen Dec. 16. Thanksgiving weekend hours will be 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. Rates are $7 for adults and $5 for children. Rental skates are available for $3.
I love Canaan and recomend it highly whenever I can but going from $45 on a weekday to $52 is a pretty steep increase. They are losing the affordability argument with a price jump like that.
Can we still bring canned goods for hungry folks and get a discount on Tuesdays? Or should we just heat up the cans and eat them in the parking lot to make up for the new ticket price?
Sorry to be critical but I am surprised by this
Improvements cost money that must be made up!

Hello CVR,
How much are the Junior tickets? $52 weekday (9am-4pm) ticket price is a bit steep for CVR, especially when you can ski at WISP from 9am-9pm for $59 during the week. WISP also offer's a deal on Mondays, where you get a lift ticket, rentals, & a 1hr lesson for $49. Will you be offering any weekday specials?
What improvements did you make to the snowmaking system during the off season? The family skied CVR a fair amount this past winter and the snowmaking was lacking. Did you replace the antiquated ground mounted snow guns that were pumping out the Slurpees?
