This sale is unusual for Southwest in that it covers the period from early summer to end end of Octobert. Normally the sale covers the middle of August thru the middle of December. Maybe another sale for the later period will come later. At least that's my guess.

I've neve seen Southwest offer a system wide sale for summer trvel before.

This one might  be for anyone wanting to head west for some summer skiing or maaybe someone who wants to take a chance on Colorado n October. - o r maybe just take advantage of some pretty good fares for other summer travel.

Having an engine come apart in the air could be a factor for Southwest this summer.

The fares I got for my early May flights to ski Bachelor and Mammoth were pretty good.  Lots of people were checking in for Southwest in Las Vegas for my return flight last Friday afternoon.  The non-stop to RDU was almost full and the fare was $158.

In mid-April i bought a cheap fare to got to Utah over this memorial day weekend, Dulles to SLC via Frontier for $139 rdtrp.  Too bad last Sunday was closing day at Snowbird:-(

But I was going out to help son with home improvement projects rather than ski anyway - at least that's what i told everyone.
