There is be another sale next month that covers the same time  period plus about the first 6 weeks of 2019.

Got an email about a sale this week, Tue-Thu.  Is that for fewer flights than the sale last week?  We fly out of RDU.

Southwest runs some type of sale every week of the year. Someimes they are sales in name only. SW runs two systemwide sales a year, once in June for the end of August thru mid December time period, and once in July that covers the earlier period plus the first six weeks of the new year. Past fares were mileage based -- ie flights up to 500 miles were priced at one level,  and fights from say 501 to 750 miles were priced at a different higher level, etc. The fares sale that just completed did not appear to be mileage based and was idfferent than the typcal systemwide sale.
