I have opted for a season pass at Loveland, https://skiloveland.com/tickets-passes/season-passes/, this gets me into the Powder Alliance but also has unrestricted days at all the small places in CO, I have actually learned how to ski Cooper and love it, IF, it is 100% open.

Any idea where you might go? I got the Ikon for trips out west but since I'm driving north a few times that means I'm also going to ski at Ikon locations like Sunday River. May check out Sugarloaf in Dec. Heard they have an amazing amount of snow already.
That's a good question, I have never skied anywhere in Maine and don't think I will this year but hope to soon. Im flying into Denver the 10th and will hit loveland and backcountry, that is a lrge part of my decision. I really want to return to Plattekill and Bellearye this season whn they have a storm. I plan on a completely oppurtunistic season

That sounds like a reasonable idea to me. I have timeframes picked out based on when I need to be in Boston, but the ski locations are flexible until a week or two in advance. I'm working on exploring a few places in NH this season. For the northeast, half the time I'm trying to avoid having to drive in snow since it's not worth getting snow tires for a NC minivan.

Loveland is great. They have a new HSQ this season serving some of their best advanced runs! I have visited it 3 different times for a total of 5 ski days. The first time I skied it was for two days in 2003. On the second day I met an old guy there skiing with one leg. He was finishing up his daily two hour ski session and was heading home around 11AM. I told myself, this is a place with enough size and diversity to satisfy someone from the mid-Atlantic (me) even if it was the only place they could ski for the rest of their life. I've never had a chance to take their free cat rides up to the ridge, but I had two superb and relatively uncontested powder days there on Jan 1 and 2, 2014:

Will you be out in SLC in April? Bill and I will be at Alta Lodge for three weeks this season because Easter is so late. Have different friends doing ski vacations at various times. Since the Ikon and the MCP days are separate for Snowbird now, be great to meet up for a day or two.
Are you going to the Big Sky Gathering? My schedule for a Montana ski safari ended up matching up with the late Feb dates. Meeting Bill in SLC, then the idea is to drive north and ski Discovery over Pres. Day weekend, then a couple days at Bridger before heading to Big Sky.
Does the Snowbird senior pass include 50% discounts at MCP locations?

Great! Then you can tell Bill he ought to be getting a senior pass. Either Alta or Taos would work for him. We're headed to Taos for the third season in a row. He's becoming as smooth as the Grumps. It's been fascinating to see what he was getting out of Taos Ski Weeks.

I know, it took me two visits to figure out where the stashes are and yes you can get flatted out but there is fun to be had in the trees, esp by the Poma and you can sneak a skin up toward chicago ridge thru the BCA gate just avove the backside lift.

Jim I did the deed and bought the pass last night, it will require some traveling to take advantage oif the Powder alliance and Loveland's own partner resorts but I know you can appreciate a little travel time. Sounds like your Loveland days were ideal, it can be brutal at the top of 9, But I can't wait
