Very sorry to report that there was a fatal accident at Wintergreen on Sunday, March 10.  No details about what happened on the slope in the first report.  He died at the hospital the next day.  The victim was a 47yo fire chief from NC, a Marine Corps veteran.

No new news.  I don't expect any about the accident itself for a little while.  Did see that it wat not possible for a helicopter ride to a hospital due to weather conditions.

The news today was about the memorial procession for the funeral.  The victim was a prominent and well-loved member of a small community.

Ya, it made all the local news broadcasts here several times this week. Huge bummer for all who knew him and all he helped over the years.  He was definitely well loved.
