This is not in-bounds at Canaan valley. Unless I am mistaken it is the power line cut on Weiss Knob. Ha. Should we infer that the resort endorses out of bounds skiing? For years Stowe had an ad picture looking down on the roof of the gondola top station. This picture could only be taken from the "climber's gully" which accesses the remarkably western above tree line terrain on the Mt. Mansfield chin.
I guess the ad didn't copy. I'll leave it as an exercise for the reader to find it.
There seems to be several photos in rotation for their ads. Do you mean this one Denis? Looks fun:-)
Yes, that's it. It is 'earn your turns' territory requiring touring gear, mountain sense and experience and willingness to work for it. To start the road to enlightenment, go to Whitegrass and talk to Chip and the gang. Don't expect to be told the whole story on first visit. To become a Jedi you must win their trust and pay your dues.
